Institute of Meteorology and Water Management National Research Institute has provided meteorological and hydrological services to users since 1919. Reliable service is based on Institute’s measuring and observing network.
IMGW-PIB received the official Decision of Ministry of Infrastructure which states that IMGW is authorized Air Navigation Service Provider. Institute also received Certificate of Air Navigation Service Provider issued by Civil Aviation Office in Poland and Certificate granted by PCBC and IQNet for implementation and maintenance of Quality Management System.
All information issued by IMGW-PIB is passed to users in accordance with World Meteorological Organization recommendations and with International Civil Aviation Organization regulations.
IMGW-PIB employs well qualified personnel to provide service on the highest quality level.
Deputy Director for Hydrological and Meteorological Service - Head of Forecasting exercises the ongoing supervision over the whole activity of Meteorological Services for Civil Aviation that is over Meteorological Forecasting Offices (working for civil aviation), Aeronautical Meteorological Stations and Meteorological Services for Civil Aviation Department.
Within Meteorological Services for Civil Aviation there are three Meteorological Forecasting Offices: Central Aeronautical Forecasting Office - Meteorological Watch Office in Warsaw, Central Meteorological Forecasting Office in Cracow and Meteorological Forecasting Office in Wroclaw; thirteen Aeronautical Meteorological Stations in Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Katowice,
Łódź, Poznań, Rzeszów, Szczecin, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Zielona Góra, Lublin and Modlin.
